Steak
2 NY strip steaks (room temperature)
Salt and black pepper
Kinder steak seasoning blend (or your preferred seasoning)
2 tablespoons (28 g) butter
1 garlic clove, crushed
Garlic Parmesan Orzo
1 tablespoon (14 g) butter
1 shallot, minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb (454 g) orzo pasta
2 1/2 cups (600 ml) chicken broth (plus more as needed)
1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
1/2 cup (50 g) grated parmesan cheese
Parsley (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Cook the Steak
Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt, pepper, and steak seasoning.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear steaks for about 4 minutes per side without moving them for a good crust.
During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add butter and a crushed garlic clove to the pan. Tilt the pan and baste the steaks continuously with the melted butter.
