Why You’ll Love This Recipe
If you need something quick, flavorful, and family-friendly, this is it. The sauce comes together in minutes with simple pantry ingredients, and the broiler does the rest of the work. It’s one of those recipes that feels a little elevated—but is secretly so easy.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup soy sauce
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
Salt (enough to coat salmon)
Smoked paprika (enough to coat salmon)
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh chives (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
Prep the salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry. Season generously with salt and smoked paprika on all sides.
Preheat the oven
Set your oven to broil on high and make sure the rack is in the middle position (this is key to avoid burning).
Make the sauce
In an oven-safe pan or cast iron skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Add flavor
Pour in the honey and soy sauce. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if using.
Stir and cook for about 1 minute until everything is well combined.
Cook the salmon
Add the salmon fillets to the pan. Cook for about 3 minutes per side, continuously basting with the sauce so they stay coated and flavorful.
Broil to finish
Transfer the pan to the oven and broil for 5–6 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked to your liking and slightly caramelized on top.
Garnish & serve
Remove from the oven and top with fresh chives and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
